學名: Nitrofurantoin
Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic which is marketed under the following brand names; Furadantin, Macrobid, Macrodantin, Nitrofur Mac, Nitro Macro, Nifty-SR, Martifur-MR, Martifur-100 (in India), Urantoin, and Uvamin (in Middle East). It is usually used in treating urinary tract infection. Like many other drugs, it is often used against E. coli.

劑量:
一個月以上小童(作治療用途)：每日每千克體重5-7毫克，每六小時服用；
一個月以上小童(作預防用途)：每日每千克體重1-2毫克，每十二至二十四小時服用；
成人(作治療用途)：每日50-100毫克，每六小時服用；
成人(作預防用途)：每日50-100毫克，睡前服用。
用藥禁忌:
懷孕38-42週之婦女
腎功能不全者(肌酸酐廓清率Creatinine clearance 每分鐘少於60毫升)
一個月以下幼兒
用藥注意:
患有葡萄糖六磷酸脫氫酵素缺乏症(G6PD)人仕宜小心使用
常見副作用:
作嘔、肚瀉、肚痛, 頭痛，皮疹，瘙癢，噁心，嘔吐，食慾不振，腹瀉，腹部疼痛，發燒，過敏性肺炎，肺纖維化，尿液顏色深橙褐色，溶血性貧血，腎功能降低，食慾不振，呼吸困難，過度疲倦，發燒或發冷，胸痛，咳嗽，肢體麻木，刺痛，針刺感在手指和腳趾，肌肉無力，腫脹的嘴唇或舌頭，皮膚疹、周邊神經病變
headache, rash, itching, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, pulmonary fibrosis, colours urine a dark orange-brown, haemolytic anaemia, decreased renal function, loss of appetite, difficulty breathing, excessive tiredness, fever or chills, chest pain, persistent cough, numbness, tingling, pinprick sensation in the fingers and toes, muscle weakness, swelling of the lips or tongue, skin rash
藥物相互作用:
中和胃酸胃藥會減少此藥的吸收
Probenecid 會延誤此藥的排出
病患者及家屬注意事項:
此藥宜與食物一同服用，有助減低腸胃不適的出現。
